This is just a short sample page of some of the poor dogs we groomers come across in our careers. The pictures below show animal neglect. If you are thinking about purchasing a puppy, research your chosen breed for their grooming requirements. ALL coated dogs require professional grooming EVERY 8 weeks (2 months) and they must be brushed and maintained in between grooms at home. If you can't afford the grooming, you can't afford the dog! Just like veterinary care your dog must be groomed too.

Below are some pictures of neglected dogs. A Dog coming in this condition often can not walk properly because of excessive long nails in bedded into and around their pads. Their fur so compacted between their pads, encrusted with dirt, they can hardly keep their footing.

The body of the neglected dog that is matted solid to the skin, hurts and pulls on their skin with every move they take. If the coat is matted to the skin, it can not breathe, thus the skin becomes red, sore, bruised, rashed, and or flaky etc. If the matts become wet, they do not dry and lay damp for days on end against the skin causing sores, and quite a bit of discomfort to the dog, like a human baby with severe diaper rash.

We have had dogs come in with their dew claw nails in bedded right around and into the opposite side of their leg, totally infected. Dogs that are so matted and dirty, their collars have left their necks red and raw with open wounds. Dogs so neglected and dirty that flies have laid eggs on the skin of the dog that is full of poop, then the larvae hatch and maggots feed off the dog! This is animal neglect.

Dogs coming in to Ruff Cuts showing any abuse or extreme neglect will be reported to the proper authority.
